Newborn Kune Kune Pigs

On our farm, we raise our pigs on pasture. Like our other livestock, we focus on selecting a breed that loves to graze and does not tend to root up the pasture. This provides animals with a natural, healthy life while also producing nutritious meat.

Kune Kune pigs have very flavorful meat with nutty undertones. Depending upon the month they are butchered in, their meat will take on the flavor of the pasture. Part of their job is to clean up the orchard, and to consume the extra fruit that has dropped to the ground. The Kune Kune butchered during that season will have a sweet tender meat. Those butchered in the fall will have a rich nutty flavor, as they have been grazing in either the oak grove eating acorns or the Pecan grove eating pecans.
