Great Pyrenees

Great Pyrenees have been keepers of farms for thousands of years all over the world. Originating from the Pyrenees Mountain range located between France and Spain, Great Pyrenees have been able to adapt to diverse climates. Their double coats allow them to survive harsh winters and can keep them cool in the hot summer! Males usually reach over 100 pounds and females average 85 pounds.

The temperament of Great Pyrenees has shocked many people new to the breed. They are natural caretakers of young, injured, and sick animals while still watching over the herd. Their gentle attention given to the herds is contrasted by their fierce protection against predators. Great Pyrenees, as well as other livestock guardian dogs, have been known to fight off coyotes, foxes, bobcats, cougars, wolves, wild hogs, and bears to save their farm.

What makes a Pyrenees unique is their playful personality. They tend to be more involved with humans than other guardian dog breeds. In a family setting, Great Pyrenees are patient and calm with children and make great companions for their owners. Though they are focused working dogs, they love people very much and are great judges of character. This is the main reason we raise Great Pyrenees as opposed to the other livestock guardian breeds. We have 15 Great Pyrenees guardian dogs, and each one of them has a job on the farm, and an area they protect.

Litter Updates

While we are not breeders, we do raise Great Pyrenees and prefer to raise puppies from our own line as they have proven themselves to be the best of the best. Most offspring are kept and raised right here on the farm to become part of the team, however, we do have larger litters at times and will have puppies for sale. Please join our email list for upcoming litter information. Our puppies are available for homing at 8 weeks old. We recommend joining our email list if you are interested in a puppy due to the high demand for great livestock guardian dogs. We allow reservation of males and females with a deposit of 50%.
